One day I stepped into the ocean
To visit the fishes.
I swam all the way to the bottom
But it was dark and murky
And choked with slime
And when I asked about it
The fishes said
'Its usually much prettier'
'You should come back some other day'
But I had no more air
And so I went.
(This intro thing is gonna come around and bite me so fast >.> That was actually more about the fact that my city is currently choked with smog from a forest fire a province over, but it can be about the gulf oil spill if you'd rather)
Anyway! Vigil is no longer on hiatus! I didn't get as much story planned out as I had hoped, but I do feel much more positive about the story than a month ago so yay!
Also, something I missed yesterday that I should mention because its honestly what I've been doing for the past few months <.< This is also part of the reason I'm avoiding the Foundation cause some of those guys run the server I've been using.
Minecraft! If you haven't heard of it, it's sort of a indie sandbox game. And not like those sandbox games where you go around stealing cars and ramping them off buildings into crowds of pedestrians (that term has always kind of baffled me.) In this one, you build things. Kind of like you would in, you know, a sandbox. And that's really it. There's no objective or anything like that, except to not get killed by arrow-skeletons in survival mode. Things I have built include
(in creative mode, where you can do anything but have limited space)
- The batcave
- The moon from Majora's Mask
- this really big awesome underground cavern with a bunch of big building type things and moss everywhere
- The Foodship 9 from Tyrian
(in survival, which you have to pay for and you have to make tools and collect the bricks to build stuff but have an infinite world that expands as you explore and can do more neat thinks. Also at night skeletons with bows and arrows come out and murder you)
- A really long road
- A lighthouse
- The beginnings of a port town around said lighthouse
- A really big sand-castle (this is tricky because whereas wood dirt and rock bricks float, sand falls if there's nothing under it)
It's also ridiculously time consuming once you get into it. You get started on a neat, ambitious project or just exploring a cavern system, then, five hours later WHERE DID THE DAY GO?
So in conclusion I'd like to recommend this game cause its lots of fun, but on the other hand if you ever liked building sand castle or playing with lego as a kid it will do horrible things to your spare time. And possibly your not-so-spare time.
...now if you'll excuse me I have a sudden, inexplicable urge to watch futurama.
