Well...
Well.
Well well.
Well what does that even mean? Well. Three o'clock and all's well? But why do we say 'well listen' or 'well anyway' or 'well if you come this way'. It doesn't mean anything really. It weakens the sentence a bit, to prefix it with 'well'. It says, 'well this is just what I'm saying,' it takes the edge off of a boldfaced declaration of fact. Sometimes its just a spoken punctuation mark to begin a sentence. Well. Well it seems to work just fine, anyway.
And that was your pointless creative-writing preface for this entry.
Writing update: Bluebird, the next alibi story, has just passed 10k words and I am nowhere near the climax ^-^; I may not actually be halfway through yet. This is gonna plow through 'short-story' well into legitimate novella territory. Which I guess is to be expected, cause it took me 14000 words to tell a full story with two or three fully developed characters in Dragon and Mask, and this one has at least five of em so far with two distinct subplots. Three of whom are weres of some description: we've got a were-coyote, a were-fox and a were-bat. Right now I'm focusing on editing what I've written so far and making sure all the continuity fits together ok (I tend to write early stuff that doesn't fit cause I don't know where I'm gonna take things.)
On account of longstory being looooong, I may consider taking some shorter, less plot-heavy requests to give myself a break. I will not be posting it in chapters before its done because I've fond that kills stories for me in the past >.< May be posting it in chapters once it is done though.
More general stuff: School internet sucks. It sucks for two main reasons. One, ports are shut thus preventing me from playing SMP minecraft with people ;-; two, it's been really unstable lately and its a pain to chat when you keep getting d/c'd T-T
Dorm existence has been nice. I might even feel up to interacting with the other people on my floor at some point. But we'll see.
Classes have actually been pretty cool. I'm particularly digging AdvWriting and Editing and my 18th Century novel course, the writing course because the teacher is great and the lit course because there are like five people in that class, so we get to do lots of serious discussion rather than getting talked at. Eco and Evo is also good cause we have a ridiculously fun bio teacher. Theory has been lame T-T but we've been doing Formalism, which the teacher admitted she hates, so hopefully that'll improve.
Comic news: Vigil has been dragging on me for a while. It's just not much fun anymore; there's hardly a single aspect of it I'd do the same if I were to start a comic now. Right now I'm running some guest comics I've had lined up for a while. Don't know where we'll go after that. I'd LIKE to finish this zombie plot but the thought of actually doing it.... eh <.< On the bright side, Antibunny is running a guest story, written and drawn by me, which is waaaaay cooler than Vigil has ever been ^-^ It's called Fireman and it's about a serial arsonist; you should all check it out. You don't have to read the rest of the comic to get it---actually my story falls chronologically before everything else. The characters and setting are pretty self-explanatory too.
Aaand I think that's about it. So if anyone has a story they'd like me to do, feel free to pitch it to me and if I think it'll be cool I might write something shortish (3000-8000 words, probably) for you before finishing Bluebird ^-^
