That bit is actually from a scene at the end where he's talking to some japanese dudes, and they're like 'what happened' and he's like 'I was stuck in a liferaft for almost a year with a tiger but the tiger ran off' and they're like ' >.< no srsly what happened we have to record this' and it kind of goes on like that for a bit until Pi just makes up a more plausible story.
